Sewer Improvement Project - A1A Road Closure


Hillsboro Mile traffic is currently experiencing road closure at the construction site.

The road will be open North and South of the work area.

Week of May 27, 2019


Complete Road Closure for sanitary sewer and force main installation from approximately 1205 (Castle Reef) to approximately 1212 (Palm Hill).  Residents from 1212 and North will have access to the properties from the North.  Residents from 1205 South will have access from the South.  NO ACCESS THRU THE CLOSURE EXCEPT FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES! Town Hall at 1210  must be accessed from the North.  Please note that no access will be allowed past or through Town Hall at 1210.

Partial Closures 24 hours a day (1 lane of traffic) for sanitary sewer and force main installation and road restoration from approximately 1200 (The Ocean) to 1205 (Castle Reef) and from 1212 (Palm Hill) to 1230 (Mediterranea).  The closure will expand South along with the construction crew installing Sewer Main as we move into next week.  Access to driveways will be maintained.  Traffic will be controlled with flag persons.  Please note, the furthest residents can travel north is Town Hall at 1210.


A1A/Hillsboro Mile in Hillsboro Beach

“A1A is closed to ALL TRAFFIC north of the Hillsboro Inlet Bridge between 1205 Hillsboro Mile and 1212 Hillsboro Mile in Hillsboro Beach for a Broward County Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.  Also, A1A is reduced to one lane of traffic from approximately 1230 Hillsboro Mile to approximately 1212 Hillsboro Mile and approximately 1205 Hillsboro Mile to approximately 1200 Hillsboro Mile.  A1A through traffic must avoid this area by using US 1/Federal Highway by way of the NE 14th Street Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) Bridge to the south and Hillsboro Boulevard (ICWW) Bridge to the north.
