NOTICE OF VIRTUAL PUBLIC COMMISSION MEETING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN – The Town of Hillsboro Beach Town Commission will hold a “Virtual” Regular Town Commission Meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. utilizing Communications Media Technology (“CMT”), in accordance with Governor Ron DeSantis Executive Order No. 20-69, dated March 20, 2020, relating to Emergency Management and Conducting Local Government Public Meetings in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) global health pandemic.   Municipalities may conduct meetings of their governing bodies without having a quorum of its members present physical or at an specific location, and utilizing communication media technology such as telephone or video conference, as provided by Section 120.54 (5)(b)2 Florida Statutes.   To protect the public health, safety and welfare of the community, the Town of Hillsboro Beach municipal offices are closed to the public.

Attending and Viewing the Town Commission Meeting: 

The public can attend/view the meeting utilizing WebEx, a web-based virtual meeting platform that allows the Town Commission, Town Staff, and the public to attend in a virtual environment.

Providing Public Comment

Persons desiring to provide public comment may do so by one of the methods listed below.   Please be sure to include your name and address for the record.  Your comments will be limited to three minutes per person. 

 VIA EMAIL – Public comments and documents maybe submitted via email to TownClerk@TownofHillsboroBeach.com.  Comments will be read aloud to the Commission and public and incorporated into the record.  Emails will be accepted up until the end of the Public Comment portion off the Meeting.

LIVE WEBEX PARTICIPATION – If attending via WebEx online, during the meeting bring the mouse to the bottom of the screen and select the 4th icon from the right (“participants).  You will then see those participating electronically in the meeting.  When the meeting gets to the applicable public comment section, click “raise hand” button next to your name on the right side of the screen.  This will notify the meeting host that you would like to make a comment.


PLEASE TAKE NOTICE AND BE ADVISED that if any interested person desires to appeal any decision made by the Town Commission, Special Magistrate or any other Boards or Commissions of the Town with respect to any matter considered at this meeting or hearing, such interested person will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.  The meeting/hearing may be continued from day to day, time to time, place to place, as may be found necessary during the aforesaid meeting.  

 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) AND FLORIDA STATUTE 286.26, PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES NEEDING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROCEEDING SHOULD CONTACT THE TOWN CLERK NO LATER THAN 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE MEETING AT TOWNCLERK@TOWNOFHILLSBOROBEACH.COM
