Proclamation of March 9, 2021 – Municipal Election
The Town of Hillsboro Beach will hold a Municipal Election Tuesday, March 9, 2021. The purpose of the Municipal Election is to elect three (3) Town Commission members, for a two-year term of office ending in March 2023. These seats are currently held by Deborah L. Tarrant, Vicky Feaman and Barbara Baldasarre.
The Town of Hillsboro Beach is governed by Town Commissioners consisting of five (5) members. All five (5) Commissioners are elected by qualified electors, at-large. Town Elections are nonpartisan; i.e. candidates do not run as members of a particular political party, and their individual party affiliations are not relevant to their positions in Town Government. Elected officials serve for terms of two (2) years and until their respective successors are elected and sworn in.
Qualifications:
Pursuant to the Town Charter, Qualifications to Hold Public Office in the Town of Hillsboro Beach are:
Must be a bona fide resident of Town of Hillsboro Beach
Must be a citizen of the State of Florida and the United States of America
Must be at least 21 years old
Must file Certificate of Qualification and pay Qualifying Fee
Qualifying Period:
Qualifying begins at 12pm Noon on Monday, January 4, 2021, and ends at 12pm noon on Monday, January 11, 2021
Please be advised, due to Covid-19 for health and public safety, Town Hall is closed to the general public. However, the Town Clerk will be onsite at Town Hall Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00PM during Qualifying Period to accept completed packets. Appointments are recommended.

The Candidate Qualifying Fee is $54.00

The following Candidate Qualifying Documents MUST be completed and returned, with $54.00 qualifying fee, to the Town Clerk during Election Qualifying Period - no later than 12pm noon, Monday, January 11, 2021

Town Commission Reorganization Meeting:
The Town Commission will meet, reorganize and elect a Mayor and Vice Mayor seven (7) days after the Municipal Election. The Reorganization Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
