Florida’s Hurricane Season is June 1 through November 30. As a barrier island, Hillsboro Beach falls within a mandatory evacuation area.
Once a declaration of emergency is made by the State Department of Emergency Management, the Broward County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated. During this time, Town staff is constantly in contact with these agencies and the National Weather Service receiving briefings and updates. This information is then sent to residents by our Nixle System
