SPECIAL MEETING

SEPTEMBER 28, 2006

MINUTES

1. Call to Order and Roll Call.

Mayor Sussman called the meeting to order at 5:23 P.M. Commission members present: Mayor Howard ‘Chuck’ Sussman, Vice Mayor Larry B. Fink, and Commissioner Lee Bennett. Commissioner Dan Dodge and Commissioner Alan J. Polin were not present. Also present were Town Manager/Clerk Robert Mearns, Town Attorney Ellen Mills Gibbs and approximately 5 members of the public.

2. Formulate and approve advertisement for Town Clerk/Manager position.

Commissioner Bennett inquired as to whether the meeting was legal. He was informed by Town Attorney Gibbs that it was.

Mayor Sussman read the previous advertisement and advised the Commission that all that had to occur was to change the job title from “Town Manager” to “Town Clerk”. Commissioner Bennett said that he had a problem with not having the full Commission in attendance when this was discussed and that it likely would resurface at the regular Town Commission meeting next week.

Vice Mayor Fink made a motion to accept the job description as amended, seconded by Mayor Sussman. Motion carried 2-1 with Commissioner Bennett casting a nay vote.
